Migrate to AWS
Your Cloud Migration Expert
As AWS Premier Partners, we provide AWS cloud infrastructure managed services including migration of your AWS environments with a security and compliance emphasis.
Migrations to AWS include moving any workload from an on-premises environment, hosting facility, or other public cloud. We are working with many organizations to migrate workloads such as applications, websites, databases, storage, physical or virtual servers, or entire data centers.
Based on our years of experience, we’ve built a complete and proven approach for migrating workloads to AWS, so that you can gain business benefits faster.
What are Migrations?
Migration helps businesses move on-premises workloads (enterprise applications, databases, data warehouses, virtual desktops, etc.) to a cloud infrastructure to achieve higher workload performance and reduce IT infrastructure costs.
1-2 months
for small workloads
6+ months
for medium and large workloads
Why Migrate to the AWS Cloud?
With Amazon Web Services (AWS), you can provision compute power, storage, and other resources,
gaining access to a suite of elastic IT infrastructure services as your business demands them.
31%
average infrastructure cost savings vs on-premises.
7x
fewer downtime hours in 2018 vs the next largest cloud provider.
62%
more efficient IT infrastructure management vs on-premises.
Migrating to AWS
Every migration roadmap is different.
Phase 1: Cloud Migration Discovery & Analysis
Migration helps organizations move on-premises workloads (enterprise applications, databases, data warehouses, virtual desktops, etc.) to a cloud infrastructure to achieve higher workload performance and reduce IT infrastructure costs.
Migration of an organization’s first workload takes from 1-2 months (for small workloads) to 6+ months (for medium and large workloads). Subsequent workloads require less time to migrate due to the gained experience.
- Identify Migration Goals
- Source Discovery / Discovery Tooling
- Conduct a Migration Readiness Assessment (MRA) based on the following 6 principles of the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework (AWS CAF)
- Perform Optimization and License Assessment (OLA)
Achieve fast and seamless MAP migrations to the Cloud
Phase 2: Migration Strategy Planning & Design
Organizations begin to contemplate how to migrate an application during the second phase of the Migration Process. This is when they determine what is in their environment, what their interdependencies are, and what would be easy or difficult to migrate. Using this knowledge, organizations can outline a plan on how they will approach migrating each of the applications in their portfolio and in what order.
Learn more about the six application migration strategies in AWS.
- Workload / Application identification for test and validation
- Recommend migration and modernization strategy (6 R’s – Rehosting, Replatforming, Refactoring, Repurchasing, Retire, Retain
- Provide a cost optimized Architecture outing AWS Services, validated against chosen migration and modernization strategy
- Estimate and present TCO and ROI of business value for migrating to AWS
- Prepare a detailed RACI
Phase 3: Migrate & Modernize
We have expertise in offering solutions that enable customers to migrate and modernize applications while they move to the cloud. As AWS Premier Partner can assist customers optimize cost and reduce TCO, modernize legacy applications and data, and reduce operational burden.
- Accelerate
- Scale
- Modernize
Phase 4: Operate & Optimize
In the operate and optimize phase, you can maximize the benefits derived from hosting applications on AWS. The optimizing activities can address cost, performance, security, or resiliency concerns for your application stack.
These deliverables include but are not limited to:
- Business Continuity Strategy
- Patch and Release Management
- Operations Health Monitoring
- Incident and Problem Management
- Cost and Billing Management
Phase 5: Customer Enablement & Training
AWS Customer Enablement services augment your team’s cloud skills by delivering deep AWS expertise where, when, and how you need it. You can get projects started faster, build high-performing applications more quickly, and continuously optimize costs. AWS Customer Enablement helps you move faster and achieve success with AWS.
These deliverables include but are not limited to:
- Provide hands on training on the management of the Cloud environment
- Handover of Architecture documents, Disaster Recovery (DR) and Backup policies, Cost Management and Optimization Reports and Compliance Reports

Phase 6: Cost Optimization
We are focused on helping you avoid unnecessary costs.
Key topics include:
- Understanding and controlling where money is being spent
- Selecting the most appropriate and correct number of resource types
- Analysing spend over time
- Scaling to meet business needs without overspending
Phase 7: Well-Architected Framework Review
The Framework provides a consistent approach to evaluate your workloads against AWS best practices and help build secure, high-performing, resilient, scalable, and efficient infrastructures for your applications and workloads.
The Well-Architected Framework is based on six pillars:
- Operational Excellence
- Security
- Reliability
- Performance Efficiency
- Cost Optimization
- Sustainability
