FAnews celebrates 25 years in the industry and distributes far more copies than any other industry publication. The magazine is also available in digital format, and with the no-cost CPD system, readers can earn three CPD hours per edition – this is a huge benefit for any reader.

The Challenge

Previously, FAnews relied on a third-party application, JumpCloud, for device enrollments and policies. JumpCloud is a directory platform that customers use to authenticate, authorize, and manage users, devices, and applications.

While JumpCloud offered authentication and user management capabilities, they faced challenges with passwords during device sign-ins and encountered syncing issues with their Microsoft account.

The overall device and policy management experience fell below their expectations and requirements.

The Solution

With Silicon Overdrive’s experts, FAnews bid farewell to JumpCloud by upgrading from Business Standard to Business Premium, where they are licensed to access the full Microsoft Intune capabilities.

Microsoft Intune is a cloud-based service that allows organizations to manage and secure their employees’ devices and applications, enabling effective mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) capabilities.

The Silicon Overdrive team expertly set up various policies, including ensuring passwords expire after 30 days and devices are compliant. These policies also check that Bitlocker, Windows technology that encrypts your drive, is enabled. Bitlocker also provides audit capabilities that contribute to data security and compliance efforts.

Password policies have also been set up for iPad and Android devices.

The Outcome

Since implementing Microsoft Intune, FAnews has witnessed a remarkable transformation.

The shift to Microsoft Intune has resolved their password and syncing problems, ensuring smooth device sign-ins and reliable synchronization with their Microsoft accounts. FAnews can now easily enroll, configure, and manage all their devices with a few clicks, saving valuable time and effort through the user-friendly interface.

With Intune, their devices remain protected, ensuring that only authorized personnel can access critical information, all while maintaining industry-standard security practices.

By upgrading to Business Premium, FAnews reduced costs associated with 3rd party tools like JumpCloud.

Microsoft Intune has exceeded their expectations, providing them with a hassle-free and enticing device management solution.

“Microsoft Intune has transformed our device management process, simplifying it to a great extent. The centralized dashboard and robust security features have allowed us to effortlessly manage and secure our devices, saving us time and giving us peace of mind.
Michelle Schreuder-Rankin, Co-Owner at FAnews
