Nexxt Digital’s Fleet Management System (FMS) stands as a leading enterprise solution, offering a robust platform for comprehensive life cycle management of moveable assets. Leveraging strategic partnerships and channels, Nexxt Digital delivers an unparalleled service to its clients.
As a provider of the Fleet Management System (FMS) to leading global payments company through a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, Nexxt Digital recognized an opportunity to optimize its infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency.
The initial deployment, though effective, had room for improvement, particularly in automating the management of microservices.
The team was eager to ensure the platform met stringent compliance requirements and adhered to AWS best practices, streamlining operations and reducing time spent on manual maintenance tasks.
To address these challenges, Nexxt Digital partnered with Silicon Overdrive, a team known for their expertise in cloud solutions. Together, they embarked on a project to rearchitect and modernize the existing cloud environment.
The migration to Amazon ECS (Elastic Container Service) on Fargate, a managed service offered by AWS, was a key component in this transformation. This migration not only optimized the infrastructure but also ensured a cost-effective and efficient setup that aligned with AWS best practices.
Despite the platform being out of scope for PCI DSS, the Silicon Overdrive team proactively enhanced the security measures to meet these rigorous standards. This involved implementing proper network and application segmentation and reinforcing the overall security posture, which significantly benefitted Nexxt Digital.
Furthermore, Silicon Overdrive established two distinct production accounts – one for the Fleet Management System platform and microservices, and another dedicated to managing the bank’s microservices. This strategic setup allowed for more effective control, management, and compliance, aligning the environment with Visa’s requirements.
The collaboration with Silicon Overdrive culminated in a successful migration of Nexxt Digital’s workloads to a modernized AWS environment. The enhanced environment not only met industry standards but also fulfilled Visa’s specific requirements. By adhering to AWS best practices, the infrastructure now boasts improved scalability, reliability, and security.
As a result of these efforts, Nexxt Digital is well-positioned for future growth. The platform’s scalability has been significantly enhanced, paving the way for additional client workloads. With the technical challenges resolved, Nexxt Digital is now equipped to expand its offerings confidently, assured of their compliance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Ryan Nel, Founder and Executive Director at Nexxt Digital, said, “Great service and extremely knowledgable support guided us through the migration and AWS Well Architected Review processes successfully. We are now confident that our AWS Infrastructure is setup according to industry best practices.”
